However, each six had to design their own cork counter for the game - the girls came up with some really good ideas including copying their six badge.
The girls learnt their way around their handbook, found out about Lord and Lady Baden-Powell (the founders of Scouting and GirlGuiding) and had to think about who the New Zealand Prime Minister was.
World Thinking Day is Lord and Lady Baden-Powell's birthday and is celebrated around the world on the 22nd February every year. We remember our Guiding sister and that we are part of a huge organisation called the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS for short!).
Around the world WAGGGS has Four World Homes where you can stay or visit while you are overseas. You can even volunteer to work at some homes. The World Homes are:
- Pax Lodge, London, England
- Sangam, Pune, India
- Our Chalet, Adelboden, Switzerland
- Our Cabana, Cuernnavaca, Mexico
We then made a compass needle from corks in our sixes. Although it took a while for the experiment to work, eventually some of them did work!!
Finally, we had our United Kingdom quiz that Carol had also prepared to help the girls about the country where she comes from. Some girls did really well achieving 14.5 out of 15. All girls had a good try at the quiz even if they weren't quite sure of the answers. Click here for the Quiz!
