Smell a Patch Bear Paw was our theme for the evening, so we learnt all about smells and noses!
First up the girls played a Kim's Game to help their memory skills. The girls were shown 10 items and had to memorise them. The items were then taken away and the girls had to remember what was shown.
Next up were 2 smell activities - the girls were blindfolded and had to identify different smells (like coffee, tea, golden syrup, vanilla, perfume etc). The girls found some of them quite tricky but others really easy.
The second activity was to identify pictures of animal noses. There were a variety of animals to choose from, including gorillas, seals, dolphins and even a baboon. It was certainly more difficult to pick the correct animal from only their noses!
The girls then had to perform a play about pollution (as this also affects our noses and smell). Some good ideas were shown including recycling and how rubbish is collected.
This was the final evening for Clemence who is off to Guides next term - have a fabulous time at Guides and we will miss you at Brownies. We wish you all the best for the future.
To finish off the evening we played the game Fruit Salad. This is where girls are paired up sitting down in a ladder formation. Each pair is given a name (i.e. apple, orange etc) and when their name is called they must run up the ladder and around the outside and back to their place. When Fruit Salad is called everyone runs together.
Next week is the last week of term and is our last evening having Gina helping us as she is off back to the USA for her university studies. We will miss her help and wish her well for her future!
