Week 2, 4th May 2010

This evening at Brownies unfortunately I was unable to be there as I am sick with a cold. I didn't want to spread my germs to you girls - thank you very much for my lovely get well cards and I look forward to seeing you all next week.

In my absence you began on your Science Whiz Specialised Badge by doing some fun science experiments including:

The Magic Balloons: where a balloon was stretched over the top of a glass bottle and an attempt at getting a boiled egg in the glass bottle too. Bet that was fun to try!

Electrifying: was all about static electricity. Using my woollen beanie the balloons were rubbed along the woolly surface to make static electricity. Perhaps you even tried to make your hair stand on end - did it look and feel a bit funny?

Balloon Inflating: was a very different way to get your balloon to inflate - by using baking soda, vinegar, paper towel and an empty plastic bottle. Did the balloon inflate as much as you thought it would? See the science experiment instructions here .

There were also some electricity word searches to complete and I see you spent some time making some lovely get well cards for me.
